HoroscopeYOUR MONTHLY HOROSCOPE FOR JANUARY

Happy New Year everyone! The month of January is here, but until the children return to school, we still have some festive seasonal spirits lingering…

We talk of the January blues but there is so much to do in this Capricorn month. The Capricorn goat easily scales mountains, so although it might feel difficult to ‘get back to reality’ after a nice, long break with the family, the goat will help you get through it quickly and painlessly. Skiing holidays with the family and long winter walk in hilly places also come to mind and is perfect for January. Saturn rules this sign and this planet rules all forms of careful planning so it’s also an ideal month for organising short breaks in beautiful places and long-term planning for the bigger family holidays in the coming year.

Capricorn
Dec 22 – Jan 20

It’s the Capricorn season, and this month is all about letting your hair down and enjoying organised get-togethers with your close friends and loved ones. Enjoy the long evenings and try to take it all in Capricorn, you deserve it.

Life

Happy birthday Capricorn! You are a natural at taking responsibilities in a shared setting and the first half of January will see you using your ideas to create frameworks that only make better existing routines and commitments for you and your neighbours.   The first two weeks are going to be busy with lots of travel locally, meeting with friends and catching up on all the news and happenings over the festive season as it comes to an end. Around the middle of the month, a chat with someone older whom you admire helps you sort out your priorities and then the pace eases up for you as the month comes to a close.

Relationships

The new moon on the 6th is in your own sign freeing you up to lead the way with loved ones, colleagues and friends. Communication is key, Capricorn. Use your open ways of getting things done and talking things through, this will result in a deeper level of understanding during the last week of the month.

Health

The new moon brings new energy to you so you will start the New Year feeling bright and clear about how to plan your everyday life to get the most out of it.  Remember to ease up on the pace of things around mid-month when life is likely to get a little intense. Go slowly and all will work out well.

Children

From the middle to the end of this month, there are some happy family gatherings at home that are likely to involve some surprising adventures full of happiness and fun, particularly, after the full moon on the 21st.

Aquarius
Jan 20 – Feb 18

Sociable Aquarians, January will bring a lot of opportunities to visit friends and bring you together with those you love. You’ll feel inspired at the arrival of 2019, so make sure you jot down all your ideas and turn your plans into clear visions for the year ahead!

Life

Your ruling planet, Uranus, goes direct around the time of the new moon on the 6th and this will help the flow of ideas between you and those close to you. The sun moves into your sign on the 21st at the time of the full moon, so, by the end of the month all your plans should be in place and you’ll be raring to go!

Relationships

The accent is on communication and using your originality and inventiveness to bring sparkle and enthusiasm into this area of your life during the second half of January. The last week is particularly good for personal plans that involve the support of those close to you.

Health

From New Year, and particularly from the time of the new moon on the 6th, you can make a totally fresh start on your daily health regime with new and original approaches delivering refreshing benefits when your ruler, Uranus, goes direct around the same time.

Children

Happy times with the children are on the calendar for you as an Aquarian mum from the 7th,  with outings planned to unusual places like a planetarium or a science fair. Sometimes the most unexpected journeys will take you to wonderful places, embrace life’s surprises between now and the time of the full moon on the 21st.

Pisces
Feb 18 – Mar 20

As a Piscean it’s difficult for you to put yourself first and, true to form, the New Year will see you dreaming about the future for your family, making them feel more loved than ever as you wonder about what the year ahead will bring. Giving love, being loved and creating a strong sense of belonging are the New Year gifts that are most precious to you and which bring you great personal joy.

Life

The new moon on the 6th puts a focus on your hopes and wishes in January so you start the year mindful of your New Year resolutions list and what you need to do to help you realise them. Avoid taking on too many commitments around the middle of the month and you are likely to find that some of those hopes and wishes begin to materialise from the time of the full moon on the 21st.

Relationships

From the 6th onwards, you’ll feel that you can express your feelings in fresh and new ways so that those you love and to whom you are really close understand you better and a closer bond develops.  This leads to deeper insights into any joint issues that are especially important and by the time of the full moon on the 21st you will be very happy with the results that this brings.

Health

The month before your own birthday can be a time when you need to be in a quiet space. If you happen to find an opportunity to get away, find a beautiful spot near shimmering water or in a wintry forest under bright blue skies where you can take time out to think and reflect and recharge your batteries. There is nothing wrong about needing your own space. Use the time from the beginning of January up to the full moon, on the 21st, to organise days in your calendar to do this, and you will feel wonderfully relaxed and restored.

Children

You’ll be happily involved with your children and their friends, bringing fun and magic into their lives during the first half of this month and around the time of the new moon. Avoid trying to do too much around the 14th and events planned for later in the month should work out well, with a special event planned for the end of the month.

Aries
March 21 – April 19

As an Aries, you need to be out in the world, grabbing the moment and making it all happen on your own terms. For some time now, you’ve had to deal with frustrating delays and disruptive changes of plan that have slowed you down and made life challenging. Uranus in your sign is the culprit but, at last, starts moving forward from the second week and you will head out with fresh, renewed and inspired energy, acting on all those personal plans to realise those outcomes.

Life

By the time that Christmas and New Year are over and that traditional date for taking down all the decorations – 6th January – approaches- you will have everything packed away and the decks cleared for a fresh start and a new outlook for 2019.  You may even be thinking about moving house or taking on some major changes to your existing home and the first two weeks of January are ideal for thinking through any project that involves large-scale domestic changes.

Relationships

If you’ve been putting off a romantic break because of other unexpected commitments the stars are with you for taking this during the third week of this month with the 21st and 25th being especially happy and loving days for you and that special someone to share together.

Health

Aries people are known for their strong constitutions and their ability to work and play hard, even when they are feeling under par. The force is so much with you this month that the only risk to your health is overdoing it, as there are so many goals you want to achieve. Just take care to rein in a strong impulse to take on something you don’t fully understand that could take up much time and energy. In this way, you’ll make sure that you are fit and well for the things that really matter.

Children

As an Aries mum, you put your all into your children’s interests. For Aries mums who have older kids returning to school after the holidays,  you’ll be spending evenings with them helping with homework and weekends cheering them on with outdoor sporting activities. All your support and efforts will pay off around the time of the full moon on the 21st with exciting news by the month’s end that will make all of you happy!

Taurus
April 20 – May 20

Born under the tactile sign of Taurus, it’s important for you to feel loved and appreciated by sharing experiences with friends that appeal to your senses.  So make some time, for visits to spas, lunches at good restaurants and bars and even having your friends round to your place for home cooked delicious food, catching up on each other’s news and bringing some cheer to those long January evenings after Christmas is over and the New Year is here.

Life

Taureans are very sensual creatures and they love anything that has quality and comfort in huge amounts.  You love to accessorize and so, naturally, the New Year sales will beckon irresistibly to you. The best time for all this bargain hunting is from the end of the first week right up to the full moon, after which you’ll be able to sit back and marvel at all the beautiful treasures you’ve managed to get.

Relationships

You have a true gift for keeping confidences, Taurus, and you will see how strongly those you love trust you with their secrets and concerns this month.  Your loyalty and resourcefulness can achieve wonders around the time of the full moon on the 21st when you will be amazed at your success in sorting out others’ problems to their great happiness and relief.

Health

Planning for a sudden journey may be stressful so don’t be afraid to ask for some help arranging it, Taurus.

Children

After the children return to school, life will quieten down and you and they can spend cosy evenings at home, where your help with their homework and school projects will bring good results especially during the last week of this month.

Gemini
May 21 – June 20

If ever there was a zodiac sign that could brighten up January is the Gemini girl.  Your light touch, inventive mind and butterfly approach make those dull days exciting and fun.  If your outdoors, you can be found ice skating with friends and family and indoors you’ll be at a favourite pantomime – or even in one! –or at a space age science fair trying out all the exhibits.

Life

The first week will be a busy one for you, Gemini.  Getting in touch with friends after the festive season and planning trips to lots of interesting places is the key to having fun in January.  Plan your holidays abroad, after the full moon on the 21st, when it’s likely that you’ll have some great ideas with exciting results.

Relationships

There’s an emphasis on happiness in close personal relationship after Venus moves into your opposite sign of Sagittarius on the 7th. You’ll be looking at someone special through rose coloured glasses and, although they may turn out to be different from what you expect, it could still work out.

Health

Gemini lives on nervous energy and although people close to you will be truly helpful and supportive, try not to take on too many commitments and activities around the time of the new moon on the 6th  so that you have enough energy to enjoy them all.

Children

Your children and their friends are the focus of your attention in January and you’ll be very popular with all of them.   You’ll be entertaining your children and taking them to see musicals and dancing at discos and with outings to the countryside spotting all the winter wildlife and trips to the sea to watch the sun set in a winter’s twilight.

Cancer
June 21 – July 22

If you want to know what to do with that huge pile of Christmas cards left over from Christmas, the Cancerian girl will already have plans on how to re-cycle them.  Your freezer will have all the uneaten goodies from the festive holidays carefully packed and labelled ready to eat and enjoy later in the year. As a Cancerian, you have a wonderful talent for finding a treasure in amongst the most ordinary collections of things so you’ll be out there with Taurus hunting for and successfully discovering things of great value that others have missed (except for Taurus, of course!).

Life

If you have been thinking about taking on new work or a professional commitment in the past few weeks, after Uranus goes direct in Aries at the time of the New Moon on the 6th, opportunities will arrive and doors will open for you.  A valued older friend will provide wise counsel mid-month leading to a very satisfying and successful outcome around the full moon on the 21st.

Relationships

The new moon on the 6th and Mercury moving into Capricorn, your opposite sign, flags up the need for clear and constructive communication between you and those close to you, this month.  You are a deeply caring and emotionally intuitive sign and will find that, because of these traits, you are able to get at the heart of any shared problems in the middle week so that by the month’s end tensions have been resolved and the future looks very bright for any of your plans together.

Health

The New Year brings in a new you in the form of new and healthier diet and new forms of exercise that you can actually enjoy – Zumba dancing or indoor swimming or pleasant walks in local parks.  Whatever you decide to do, Venus moving into Sagittarius – your area of health and well being – from the 6th will make sure none of it is a disappointment.

Children

As your changes to your health and fitness routine are going to involve some activities that are great fun, it’s likely that you’ll be including your children in some of them.  As your legendary patience makes you one of the most natural teachers of the Zodiac, when your children return to school you’ll also be busy helping them in entertaining ways that makes studying and doing their homework easier to do.

Leo
July 23 – Aug 22

Whoever wrote the song “You are my sunshine” must have been thinking of you, Leo.  You light up a room when you walk in because of your warmth, friendliness and generosity of spirit.  You are the perfect antidote for a low January day and that is why you are so popular at this time of year.

Life

It’s likely that you have been looking at holiday brochures and beautiful, warm and sunny faraway places even before the New Year arrives.   You have had to play a waiting game, though, until family festivities were over and all the parties and get-togethers that you are wonderful at organising are completed for the holiday season.  From the 6th, when Uranus goes direct in your area of travel the pace picks up for you, again, and your holiday plans will quickly unfold.  By the month’s end, you will have put in place arrangements for the perfect vacation to look forward to, later in the year…

Relationships

After the new moon on the 6th and Venus’ entry into Sagittarius on the 7th romance and fun are the main themes for the rest of the month.  A romantic getaway for you and your partner in the third week will bring shared revelations between you that strengthen your bond and bring you closer together.

Health

The new moon inspires you to radically reform your every health routine but try to not get too intense about these changes so that you can avoid having to do a U-turn on some of them around the 19th.

Children

Even though the children return to school after the Christmas and New Year holidays, Venus moving into Sagittarius on the 7th signals happy times with them throughout January.   Watch out for overspending on an outing around the middle of the month in preparation for a special event around the time of the full moon on the 21st – which promises to be a great hit with them!

Virgo
Aug 23 – Sept 22

Being a Virgo, it’s highly like that you’ll have all the festive decorations neatly packed into boxes and all clearly labelled and stored away for next year’s winter celebrations by Twelfth Night on January 5th – the time when the festive season officially ends.   You are known for your neatness and tidiness and your appreciation of clearing the decks to allow for the new to come into your life.   January is a month when you feel fresh energy surging through you and inspiring your creative but, also, practical mind. Probably more than at any other time of the year, you’ll be out there looking for new ideas to improve and renew all the things in life that you treasure.

Life

You are very talented at taking on a project where something needs to be completely regenerated or rejuvenated in order for it to find new life, once more.  From the 6th, when Uranus moves forward in Aries, the ideas will come to you, thick and fast.  Venus moving into Sagittarius on the 7th brings the right people to you who can help with the resources for this so that, by the time of the Full Moon on the 21st, you can step back and be very satisfied with all that you’ve accomplished.

Relationships

A minor disagreement in the first week helps, in unexpected ways, to gain a clearer insight and understanding on any tensions in your relationships that may have arisen during the holidays.   You and your loved one may find yourselves taking on a bit too much in your enthusiasm to expand and improve on the domestic front so plan a short romantic break together for some pleasant rest and relaxation in the last week of this month.

Health

Being a bit of a perfectionist, you can get very stressed out about small details that don’t seem right to you.  In the week following the full moon on the 21st, you will have several opportunities to think about strategies to overcome this and reduce stress levels in your life.

Children

You are ruled by Mercury, the planet of communication and this planet is also associated with the practical common sense approach – which you have in a major way! From the 5th, when Mercury enters Capricorn – the area of your life connected with children – you’ll be providing them with advice and support with their new school projects and you’ll see from mid-month how well this develops their confidence in themselves and, in school, what they can then achieve.

Libra
Sept 23 – Oct 22

Librans value friendships almost above all other things in their lives and, after the family festivities, you’ll be reconnecting with your friends and rekindling your shared interests, meeting in your favourite places and arranging get togethers to share ideas for making January into a month when socialising is a bright flame to chase away that deflated feeling that can following the wake of the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Life

January is likely to see you involved in neighbourhood projects, using the help of close friends to improve upon situations where community interests are at the heart of the issue.  You may find yourself in the role of spokeswoman for those interests and you will be admired for your achievements in this area in the week following the Full Moon on the 21st.

Relationships

Uranus goes direct in your area of relationships on the 6th and this will free up any obstacles that you and your loved one may have been struggling with in the past few weeks.  By the time. The full moon on the 2st may flag up a return to these obstacles but this will enable you both to reach a long lasting agreement about to go forward together.

Health

There are just two sensitive points for you in January, health-wise. The first is the time around the middle of the month when you find home life is a bit intense – take some time out, visit friends or places where you can escape into activities and interests that bring you pleasure and this will help to move you passed this point.  The second is just before Full Moon on the 21st when you may have arguments with your partner about the domestic set up.   Arranging some time out pursuing a favourite hobby or pastime is a very satisfying antidote!

Children

With the children back to school, arranging activities for them in the second half of the month will give them a focal point to look forward to, as the month progresses.  Trips to events like science fairs, living history villages and hands-on technology exhibitions will feed their imaginations and inspire their creativity in the weeks to come.

Scorpio
Sept 23 – Oct 22

There’s nothing a Scorpio woman likes better than to curl up on a soft comfy sofa on a dark January evening in a warmly lit room watching their favourite film with their partner or close friends drinking wine and reminiscing about the Christmas holidays that have just come to an end. You’re a natural at matchmaking socially and you’ll be bringing acquaintances together in your home and encouraging friendships to deepen and develop where you know those friendships will last.

Life

Negotiation is the keyword for you in January and you are very skilled at this kind of work.  There will be issues on your mind that involve paperwork, especially from the time of the new moon on the 6th when you may be taking a fresh look at what deals are on offer in the new year.  Go cautiously and resist the temptation to be impulsive and you will get what you want in the way that you want by the middle of this month.

Relationships

Although you are a deeply passionate type, you don’t normally wear your heart on your sleeve.  This month, however, events with those you love during the first, second and last week will encourage you to be a little more open and that protected heart of yours will be warmed and delighted at the response this brings.

Health

Your New Year resolutions are likely to focus on revolutionising your rituals for your everyday health and well being.  Intriguing Ideas you may have come across in the last few weeks on how to personalise your diet to optimise your health can now be put into practice and, by the month’s end, you’ll be pleased with and invigorated by the results.

Children

The children’s return to school after the holiday season results in things going back to normal.  The pace starts to pick up again after the Full Moon on the 21st when a visit with them to unusual locations such as boating lake in the hills, a mysterious waterfall in the mountains or a virtually unknown seaside location will capture their imaginations and fascinating experiences for to share in the evenings that follow, at home.

Sagittarius
Nov 22 – Dec 22

As a Sagittarian, you are a natural student of humanity and you love learning about your fellow man and woman by getting out there and meeting them.   Adventure is the way you do this and there will be lots of opportunities to book yourself on winter tours, local and more afield, with all this in mind.  The result? You’ll expand your social circle and make new connections, bringing sparkle and brightness into your life on all fronts.

Life

There is a possibility of a windfall or financial success around the time of the new moon on the 6th.  As the situation unfolds, check all the details very carefully around mid-month and don’t be tempted to read more into it than is actually there.  Doing this will mean that, following the full moon on the 21st you’ll be very pleased with how it all works out.

Relationships

This should generally be a very good month for your relationships with loved ones, close friends and your partner.  You’ll be feeling very happy, with Venus moving into your sign on the 7th and will want to use your gift for escaping to unusual and faraway places to bring happiness into your loved ones lives.  Romantic trips around the time of the full moon and in the last week of January are especially well starred for you.

Health

This month’s astrology is good for your general well being, Sagittarius and the only risk to this is that you may be tempted to over-do things, not difficult as your sign is ruled by Jupiter, planet of the great and grandiose!    If you can resist the temptation to over-indulge, that will help but if you can’t, just make sure to take plenty of walks and get plenty of fresh air – the kind of exercise that Sagittarius really enjoys to do.

Children

As a Sagittarian mum, you like your children to have as much freedom to express themselves as they need.  When they return to school, you’ll be planning activities and interests for them in the evenings and outings at the weekends that help balance out classroom discipline.  It’s all about feeding their minds and freeing their spirits so they can do well in their studies and, this month, in particular, with Uranus, the liberating planet, going direct in your area of children, you understand this  “freeing up” principle, all the more!
