The sometimes wet and windy days of February are here and the air sign of Aquarius the water bearer pouring water from a heavenly vessel describes this month perfectly. Water brings life and February 1st is believed to be the first day of the Celtic Spring. The days gradually lengthen and the sunshine is warmer. You can feel the upward arcing of the coming year and see it all around: lambs are born, and crocuses, snowdrops, daffodils and primroses are shooting up all over the countryside delighting the natural gardeners of the zodiac: tactile Taurus, nurturing Cancer, green-fingered Virgo, caring Capricorn and patient Pisces.
And for the foodie and party goer signs: admirable Aries, butterfly Gemini, lovable Leo, friendly Libra, passionate Scorpio, sociable Sagittarius and gregarious Aquarius, food festivals, such as National Tortilla Day on the 24th of February, not only give you a reason to celebrate but also exciting places to visit. Let’s not forget one of the biggest party events that can be fun for every sign and all the family – the Chinese New Year on February 5th.
Jan 20 – Feb 18
Happy birthday, Aquarius! You love new experiences and meeting unusual people and the new moon in your sign on the 4th brings a month that will not disappoint you on either of these fronts.
Born in the month of February, your Chinese month sign would be the Tiger – powerful, passionate and daring. Always active and involved in teamwork, organisations and group projects you are a dynamic mover and shaker and not afraid to jump in and go for it when the goal is important to you. As an Aquarian in the Western zodiac, you will always be found among friends and colleagues motivating them and fuelling their enthusiasm to reach the goals that you share.
When Mars moves into Taurus, mid-month, you’ll be having get-togethers at home with friends and family that lead to an unusual gathering in the third week, bringing those new and interesting people into your life.
With the increased chances of new people coming into your social circle, you may find that you have an important new friend on the scene who may prove to be a very insightful and supportive confidante as the month draws to a close.
Take some time out around the new moon on the 4th when a trip to a spa or a beautifully tranquil, even spiritual, location will help you to recharge your batteries ready for a busy second half of this month…
Your children will be more than ready for the February school break, especially around the 22nd when they will be full of energy and enthusiasm. Arrange an outing for them and their friends at a theme park where they can happily let off steam!

As a Pisces in the Western zodiac, you are always ready to support those in need with your compassionate empathic understanding and your intuitive ability for recognising the crucial element in any situation.

Your imagination will be fired up by the contacts you make leading to opportunities to pursue life transforming goals after the full moon on the 19th.

March 21 – April 19
Take advantage of the crisp and bright days that occur during this month and plan something different with your family, like going out for long walks in the countryside to see the gambolling lambs that are starting to arrive at this time of year – very appropriate for mum born under the sign of the Ram!
Born in the month of April, your Chinese month sign would be the Dragon – you are recognised for your nobility and generosity and the fact that you never rest and must always be pursuing something. Sudden surprises involving friends around the time of the full moon on the 19th may mean a wish that you thought too special to come true may come true, after all, Aries. This is a time for you to believe in yourself and visualise your dreams.
As an Aries, you are open and direct by nature even if it means rocking the boat in your close personal relationships. When your ruler Mars teams up with unpredictable Uranus in your sign in the second week, take a deep breath, step back and count to ten before telling it like it is. This way you can still honestly express how you really feel but also give your partner some space to appreciate it!
You like to be active, so getting enough exercise is no problem for you, but getting too much exercise may be, though, so watch out for a tendency to get carried away and over-committing yourself in the last week of this month.
You may find your children are challenging your authority at the beginning of the month but, after the full moon on the 4th they will come around to your way of thinking and be happy that they did. You’ll pleasantly surprise them with plans for team sports with friends during the February half term break.

You may find yourself travelling for pleasure in the first week of February or planning an idyllic break for later in the month. After Mars moves into your sign on the 14th, a short break will be even more appealing when events move forward quickly and you find yourself increasingly busier as the month comes to an end.

More surprises, however, are likely to leave you feeling refreshingly inspired around the time of the full moon on the 19th.
You have a knack for homing in on pastimes and interests that your children love and you may find you are very busy from mid-month onwards organising trips to places and things to do that are magical, mysterious and fascinating for the half term February break.
May 21 – June 20
The flowers that are around as February unfolds are perfect and enchanting to the Gemini eye. The emphasis is on sharing happy experiences with your partner and close friends during this month. After the full moon on the 19th, discussions and conversations reveal deeper feelings and even some secrets that only make the bond between you stronger.
You’ll be very busy with creative thinking and even some local travelling for the first half of this month until Mars moves into Taurus when you may feel you want to chill out for a while and watch the world go by. Not for long, though, as your Gemini need for variety and change makes it difficult for you to stand still. Just resist the temptation to take on too much for others in the last week.
You may find yourself cheering your children on at a competitive event mid-month and you’ll be delighted by what they achieve.
June 21 – July 22
Comfort eating is a real temptation for your sign and the long cold winter days made it a real challenge to resist. Now that February has arrived you can feel the lightness growing and your enthusiasm for comfort but healthy eating will see you hunting for new and tasty recipes for all the family as February unfolds and Spring takes hold!
Born in the month of July, your Chinese month sign would be the Sheep – a home loving type who is gentle, compassionate and sensitive to others’ feelings, you can forgive their mistakes but can be too soft, sometimes, especially with your family and those you love. As a Cancerian in the Western zodiac, providing a loving and comfortable home for your family is one of your major motivations in life where you will be protective, supportive, understanding and very, very kind.
As your sign is ruled by the Moon, new and full moons are sensitive points in the lunar cycle for you. The new moon in Aquarius on the 4th is all about managing your shared resources. You are very good at taking care of others’ material needs and February may be a time when you take on a role to put this talent to good use such as in a treasurer’s role for your neighbourhood interests.
Venus moves into Capricorn, your opposite sign, on the 4th bringing you and your partner opportunities to share more love and happiness together. Look out for a romantic short break around the middle of the month near Valentine’s Day on the 14th.
Cancerians are very strongly tuned in to other people’s feelings and if those people are experiencing a stressful time, that stress can also touch you but you are a courageous and compassionate sign and will often lift the other person’s spirits with a practical approach that lifts your own spirits, in the process. Remember this in the third week, just after the full moon on the 19th, and you will keep your energy and outlook on a positive upward curve.
You’ll be encouraging your children’s new and old friendships this month and will come up with some unique ideas on what to do in the half term break to make sure that they have fun-filled days. They’ll return to school buzzing with their experiences and happy to get back to their studies, again, helping each other to learn.

From the 10th, when Mercury moves into Pisces, you’ll be sharing ideas on how to make the most of the things that you treasure together. By the time of the full moon on the 18th this could mean a financial boost for you which turns out to be good for you both.
When Leo makes a decision, it’s based on careful thought and after considering every factor possible. You have probably been thinking about a lifestyle to maximise your health and optimise that vitality you are so appreciated for. New ideas on how to do this will start to flow from mid-month and advice and support from an important friend will help you to put them in place as the month draws to a close.
Teaching your children through play is very important to you, Leo, as you feel this is the best way to learn. Adventure themed outings and activities during the school half term break are very effective in this way. Exploring unfamiliar woodlands, countryside and coastlines – particularly with the family dog in tow – are great for you and them but make sure you have your SatNav app with you if you’re out and about on the 22nd/23rd when you may find you’re going further afield than usual!
