HoroscopeYOUR MONTHLY HOROSCOPE FOR APRIL

Named after Aphrodite, the Greek Goddess of Love, April marks the return of the funniest day of the year (April Fool’s) and is birth month to many a famous face. For all the Northern Hemisphere dwellers longing for a flicker of sunshine, the month of April is just a little bit indecisive and always keeping us guessing when it comes to the weather! But this year we’ve got much on the agenda to be excited about so let’s hear what our resident Astrologist, Pat Harris has to reveal about the month ahead.

The energy is on the rise as April unfolds. Mars the ruler of this Aries month is everywhere around us. People are feeling re-vitalised as the days grow longer and the sun becomes warmer. The flora that came into bud in March comes into glorious flower, now. It’s a wonderfully uplifting month when we all begin to feel that winter is behind us and we are well and truly on the way to summer which gets us thinking about holidays, again. This year, the Easter break falls in April and the children are on holiday for two whole weeks! It’s a happy family event with Easter eggs, Easter fares and, of course, the Easter Bunny, and with a two week school vacation there is enough time to organise a really special break at home or far away that all the family will enjoy.

Probably every location in the world is associated with a sign of the zodiac so it’s likely that if you share your sun sign with a place, you will discover an affinity with it. Aries
March 21 – April 19

Happy birthday, Aries! The new moon on the 5th falls in your sign beginning a fresh new cycle for you. Mid-month looks especially good for bringing new experiences into your life using social networking sites and getting together with friends! It all comes together around the time of the full moon on the 19th when all your efforts begin to bear fruit!

Life

If you’re pioneering an education project or planning trips abroad, check your arrangements to make sure everything is working out. Hitches around the middle of the month when authority figures may not understand what you are trying to achieve can be smoothed out with your limitless energy and optimism.

Relationships

From the new moon on the 5th, you’ll be looking at your personal relationships and close friendships differently. It’s all harmony and affection achieved through words of love – what could be better for passionate Aries?

Children

Aries mums support their children with all their hearts in everything they do so you’ll be out there on the trail of the Easter bunny and cheering them on in the egg and spoon race – and the great thing about it for them is that coming first doesn’t really matter because, whatever happens, Aries, with a mum like you your children will always feel like winners!

The New Moon on the 5th reminds you that you need to take time out, now and again, to retreat to a quiet and peaceful place just to reflect on how lovely life is. A trip to somewhere tranquil will lift your spirits mid-month and help you to feel fully restored.

Children

You’ll be busy with your children’s social lives around the middle of the month when you are likely to be planning trips to outdoor places. Exploring woodland areas and national parks with your children will be a happy experience for you all.

Gemini
May 21 – June 21

The new moon places an emphasis on your involvement with friends, groups and organisations and you’ll be taking a fresh look at these in order to see what you really want to do and what you really need in order to achieve it. By the time of the full moon on the 19th, you’ll have the answer.

Life

Career interests go well in April, with your naturally inventive mind attracting extra income. Just make sure that you understand what is expected of you in the last week of this month and look out for an opportunity to achieve your goals.

Relationships

Mid-month, a return to a shared project that you and your partner have high hopes for, will turn out well for you both. If, after the Easter break, your partner says that you now need to spend more time with them, don’t worry – a social event or personal success for a goal you share together will more than make up for it all on the 30th.

Health

Being ruled by Mercury, your mind is very busy almost all of the time (even when you sleep) and this month you have plenty of opportunities to express that mental energy in positive and uplifting ways. Avoid taking on too much mid-month to keep that positive momentum going.

Children

When your children are off for the Easter break you will be planning lots of fun games, outdoors and indoors. Easter egg hunts following clues around the garden and even dressing up as the Easter bunny will be great fun for everyone and a great success for you!

Cancer
June 21 – July 22

Although you need your own private space, your home and family are the things that give life purpose for you. You love family gatherings and, as the Easter holidays approach, this month will see you planning for as many of your tribe as possible to gather together, renew family ties and catch up on family news at your home or at a favourite eating place where you can all enjoy an Easter lunch together.

Life

The New Moon in Aries puts a focus on your role as mum-in-charge of the family and you will rise to it wonderfully, making sure everyone is properly cared for. You’ll be appreciated for all that you do this month especially after a particularly successful family get together at the Easter weekend.

Relationships

Cancerians are deeply loyal in their relationships and provide love and affection that make their partners feel very valued. Mid-month, your loyalty and affection will lead to an understanding between you and your partner that deepens and strengthens your relationship further.

Health

Jupiter turns retrograde in your area of daily health routines so you may be thinking about adopting some old tactics to keep you well and fit. Put them in place from mid-month for best results and then you can indulge yourself with all the Easter chocolate goodies.

Children

As a Cancerian mum you love to organise events that bring your children together with their cousins and you can do this very successfully during the Easter holidays, particularly in the second week when you and a friend may plan a very special unusual treat for both your broods.

Leo
July 23 – August 22

Leos, like the lion in the sign, love warm sunny days so you will be tuned into the steadily increasing mild weather as April gets underway. You’ll also feel a lightening of your own mood and a frequent sense of playfulness. Getting together with friends for lunch on the terrace of a local restaurant or long walks in the countryside on sunny weekends, are delights that lie in store.

Life

A very thoughtful and beautiful gift you may receive in the first few days of this month may touch your heart. Mercury moves into your area of travel on the 17th so, be prepared for some lovely and happy adventures throughout the Easter holidays.

Relationships

You’ll get the chance to have a deep and intense discussion with your loved one, mid-month, which will help you see each other in an even more romantic light. Plan a romantic break for the 14th and 15th to get the most from these new discoveries about each other!

Health

April is a fire month and being a fire sign, you’ll feel your energy on the rise, bringing with it an increased sense of confidence and strength. Just pace yourself a little towards the end of the second week to avoid unnecessary stress. Everything will soon go forward, again, with excellent results.

Children

As a Leo mum, you love to join in with your children and their creative fun so the Easter holidays may see you helping them to make Easter scenes with little figures of sheep, ducks and Easter chicks with the Easter bunny taking centre stage!

Virgo
August 23 – Sep 22

Virgoans find that April is often a time when they support close friends and loved ones so there is not a great deal of time for them to look after their own interests. As a Virgo, you are very dependable and take pride in your reliability and your willingness to work hard for the things that others need in life. This month, make sure that you make some time to attend to your own needs.

Life

You’ll be looking around at your home and feeling that you need to re-vitalise it and it’s likely that, after Jupiter goes retrograde on the 10th, you’ll be on the case and sorting it all out ready for friends and family to come visiting in the summer months.

Relationships

The new Moon in Aries makes this a month when you can resolve any emotional tension between you and your partner. You can put in place financial strategies that help both of you to enjoy life more. By the time of the Full Moon in Libra, you and your partner should be very satisfied with your joint achievements.

Health

Although April can be a less than satisfying month for Virgo, health issues should be very minor if non-existent for you. As you are a bit of a perfectionist, make sure that you get your proper amount of rest and quiet in order to maximise your health during this time.

Children

As a Virgo mum, you like to keep your children productive, happy and learning when they are playing. Trips to the local zoo, making Easter greetings cards for their friends and going on nature trails are all things to do that will keep you and your children happy.

Libra
Sep 23 – Oct 23

Librans make fantastic hosts and love bringing people together. The longer milder days of April bring you more opportunities to organise special evenings or simple get-togethers with friends at home. Decorate your home with the beautiful flowers that are around now – tulips, daffodils, primroses – in pots or vases and the setting will be just right!

Life

The new moon in Aries on the 5th and the full moon in your sign on the 19th bracket a window of time when you can get new projects started with the help of close long-time friends that should work out very well as the month comes to a close.

Relationships

From the 17th, when Mercury moves into Aries, it’s all about communication. You’ll be surprised at the things you learn about each other. A surprise windfall in the third week makes it possible for you to bring extra happiness into your partner’s life.

Health

The early part of April sees you planning a short stay at a tranquil and beautiful retreat for a weekend away mid-month. Take advantage and enjoy the blissful escape so that your batteries are fully charged for time with the family during the Easter break.

Children

You’re a Libran parent and naturally share that parenting with your beloved partner. You will likely organise an Easter break so that you can spend some precious time together doing things like flying kites, picnicking, eating out at restaurants and making friends with the locals.

Scorpio
Oct 23 – Nov 22

April showers and windy days don’t stop your sign from enjoying this time of year. You find the unpredictable weather of the early days of April exciting and challenging. Being out in the elements, waterproofs and wellies on, you can have fun in a forest, at the beach or exploring lakes and waterfalls. April for Scorpio is the time of year to clear the decks, take a step back, breathe deeply and boldly go anywhere you want to!

Life

Make some time and space for friends and neighbours during the second week of April when you’ll be sending out invites and getting together over morning coffee at local play areas with the children. Support them with advice and insights in your usual perceptive Scorpio way.

Relationships

Easter weekend will have its romantic moments for you and your partner and they will arrive in ways that you could not have imagined. They could seem like a completely new person to you making it easy to fall in love all over again!

Health

You’ll be looking for ways to organise your daily schedule into a more healthy routine after the New Moon on the 5th – looking at your diet and the amount of exercise you allow yourself. You’ll be pleased at how enjoyable your new healthy lifestyle can be.

Children

You’ll be re-visiting a favourite haunt with your children mid-month – somewhere with mysteries and secret places waiting to be discovered. Just the sort of thing that appeals to you and it will be a great success with the children, too.

Sagittarius
Nov 22 – Dec 21

April is the fire month of Aries and, after the long cold months of winter, you will welcome the increasing warmth of spring.  Like all fire signs, you love the sun and with the arrival of April, you can feel yourself coming alive as the fiery energy vitalises you right to the heart of your being. As a Sagittarian, you are always looking ahead to the beckoning horizon and, at this time of year, especially, the world looks brighter, the future is exciting because you feel in every part of you that spring has truly sprung!

Life

Even though you are a future orientated sign, this month, you’ll be re-visiting old creative projects that you haven’t had time to explore and the inspiration that you get from this will help you achieve some long held goals.

Relationships

Mid-month there are some romantic evenings with your partner waiting for you and the opportunity to spend several days away in a place that has treasured memories for you both. If you’re planning a special occasion, aim for the time around the 14th to get the best from this wonderful time.

Health

After the Easter break, as life quietens down a little with the children returning to school, you may find it suddenly starts to get exciting, again, when you meet someone or read something which is a complete revelation to you on how to manage your day-to-day routine!

Children

After Mercury moves into this area of your life, mid-month, you’ll be increasingly busy with your children’s lives, planning outings with their friends as the Easter holidays approach. Sagittarius is the sign of the centaur – half human and half equine – so a trip to the local race course might be on the calendar for all the family!

Capricorn
Dec 22 – Jan 20

Capricorn is the sign of the goat, happy on hills and even happier on mountains. As the days of April become longer, warmer and brighter, you’ll be putting on your walking shoes and heading for these types of invigorating and breath taking places. Being high up on a clear day looking out over a magnificent view is a little piece of heaven for a Capricorn and, as the spring gets into its stride, you’ll be able to enjoy these experiences even more.

Life

Your ruler Saturn turns retrograde at the month’s end when you are likely to be in a reflective mood and making changes to existing life routines that have been in place for some time. Whatever you decide to do will have a positive impact on home and working life.

Relationships

As a Capricorn, you need to feel appreciated although your other half may not properly understand this, at times. April provides you with many opportunities to get this message across in ways that are comfortable for you both. Oddly, the circumstances may involve conversations with siblings that may later lead to a closer understanding between you both.

Health

All looks good in April  when you are likely to feel that life is going pretty well and you have it all worked out for family get-togethers over the Easter break. Your only weakness is that you have a strong sense of responsibility and can carry too much when you should be stepping back to de-stress!

Children

Capricorn mums see life as a journey that is always teaching you something so you are likely to plan trips that are both educational and fun for your brood. You always know the history of places, so outings to grand houses and ancient forts will be fascinating because of this.

Aquarius
Jan 21 – Feb 18

Aquarians are the humanitarian souls of the zodiac. If you want an effective fund raising event put an Aquarian in charge of assembling the team and success is guaranteed. This month, the main emphasis is on managing your resources to get more out of them but there is also an element of involvement with charitable organisations so you may find yourself making new friends through these connections.

Life

The new moon in Aries on the 5th could see you joining a club or taking up a short course to improve your writing skills and this may lead to bigger and more ambitious types of study by the time of the full moon on the 19th. It will also expand your social circle bringing new people into your life.

Relationships

Very close friends may seek your support and trust you with some sensitive confidences throughout April but particularly during the second week when you’ll realise just how valued you are and you’ll be surprised and touched by emails you may receive expressing how much you have helped them.

Health

Getting out and about on local walks with friends will keep you fit and well in April and there will be plenty of opportunities to do this. It’ll be all the more enjoyable because, afterwards, you can reward yourself and them with lunch or supper at your favourite local restaurant.

Children

Easter is a family holiday you really know how to enjoy – especially if there are fun games to take part in. You’ll be encouraging the children and being right in there with them, in the egg and spoon race and hunting for the Easter Bunny!

Pisces
February 19 – March 20

Every sign can find magic in a rainbow but Pisces is captivated the most. April showers on bright sunny days can make this month the likeliest one for spotting rainbows so you may be especially fortunate in seeing them, Pisces, when you are on your quiet walks in your secret and most favourite watery places during this time of year.

Life

April looks like being a hectic but happy month for you, with a lot of local travelling with friends and groups that share your aims and wishes. You’ll be glad of the lengthening days and the additional daylight hours they bring because of all the extra running about that you’ll have to do.

Relationships

Mid-month, you and your loved one may need some time and space just for yourselves as home life may be demanding. If you can get away for an overnight stay in a countryside setting beside a lake, the second week of April will give you that romantic window for precious time together.

Health

In your usual Piscean way, you’ll be attentive to all your family and friends’ needs over the Easter weekend so make sure to set time aside in the following week just for yourself. Book an afternoon at a health spa retreat for you and a friend to re-charge your batteries!

Children

As a Piscean mum, you will be planning holiday trips to magical watery places for your children in the Easter break like boating on the local lake or a visit to a Swannery, and the more enchanted your children are, the more likely you’ll re-visit it before the holiday’s end.
