WITH LUCA ANDRISANI OF
As part of our Real Dads series, we wanted to feature inspirational blogger Luca Andrisani of 2daddies1baby. Luca lives in New York City with his husband Jaime Boet and their daughter Elena. Luca is originally from Italy, and has lived in the US since 2001. Jaime is from Venezuela and has been living in America for 15 years.
Tell us a bit about becoming dads…
“We both always wanted to become dads but we never thought it could become a reality. So as soon as surrogacy became an option, we decided to have Elena. She was born in 2018 and since then our lives have changed for the best.”
“While it can be challenging to be dads and we both have full time jobs, we make it work. I think our secret is that we both cooperate on everything.”
“I can’t imagine raising a child like my mom did, with very little help from my dad who was the typical southern man who provides but doesn’t change a diaper.”
What do you like to do as a family?
“In our spare time we like to do anything that involve exercise and movement for Elena who has tons of energy! We have always travelled, even abroad, since Elena was very young. And now that we are both vaccinated, we have started to travel once again.”
How has lockdown been for you?
“It has been hard on all of us more psychologically than anything. We actually have great memories of being together 24/7. For us it was easier because we didn’t have to deal with e-learning for Elena since she’s too young. We spent the lockdown cooking, dancing and cuddling a lot! Hopefully Elena won’t have too many memories of this pandemic.”
“Our Instagram page is a testimony that two same sex parents can perfectly raise a child and give love. While it hasn’t always been easy exposing our family so much, it’s all worth it if we can inspire others to do the same.”
