An Italian powerhouse in the fashion industry, Moschino has an unwavering signature style that can be seen punctuating this kids’ collection. Many of the pieces feature the cheeky Moschino bear that’s become synonymous with the brand, adding touches of playfulness and familiarity.
Franco Moschino created his label in 1983 (the kids’ clothes came along in 2008) and was known for innovation and eccentricity in his designs. He loved to parody and spoof the high fashion industry, creating pieces such as a cashmere coat with “expensive jacket” emblazoned on the back and “bull chic” scrawled across a matador-style outfit. Ironically though, in time, Moschino itself would become one of the most instantly recognisable fashion brands in the world.
Since taking over as creative director in 2013, Jeremy Scott has retained the rebel nature of Moschino.
Nostalgia and witty slogans have all been part of his journey, and these are reflected across this SS21 collection. “I don’t speak Italian but I do speak Moschino” is, perhaps, the perfect statement to sum up this entire edit.
Bold colours and simple lines with striking Moschino logos make this collection recognisable in an instant
This extensive collection features so much for little Moschino fans, to suit all ages and all seasons. The embroidered bear motif looks so at home on baby grows with rounded collars. Three-piece baby sets (perfect as a gift) feature a footed baby grow, soft hat and bib.
For older kids, holographic tees and bear print hoodies can be mixed and matched as part of an everyday casual wardrobe. There are practical elements too, such as black and white monogrammed leggings and chunky-soled, easy-to-wear velcro sandals.
For pool days, consider a bold-logoed bikini or swimsuit in a variety of bright tones from red to pink or yellow, then throw over a loose-fit cotton dress or block knit jumper as the sun sets.
Whatever you go for from this collection is bound to have a maverick touch and will be, undeniably, Moschino at its finest.
Wonderfully irreverent – unmistakably Moschino…
