Fashion season ends just in time for a visit to the first Global Kids Fashion Week

With just a week and a half to go, here at AlexandAlexa HQ we are gearing up for the first ever Global Kids fashion week; set to become one of this year’s most talked about events in the fashion calendar. Inspired by the growing number of dedicated collections for the world’s littlest fashionistas, GKFW has already caught the attention of the likes of Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Grazia Daily and the Huffington Post. Spanning over three days, Global Kids Fashion Week  consists of runway shows, performances and a showcase of the latest innovations in children’s fashion. This event is the first of its kind and has seen the support of some of the world’s most prestigious luxury and fashion brands including Little Marc Jacobs, Junior Gaultier and Chloe. London’s V&A Museum of Childhood will also be commemorating this moment in children’s fashion history by partnering the event.

Tickets to the Spring/Summer 13 public show are down to the last few with all proceeds going to children’s charity, Kids Company. As official sponsors of the event AlexandAlexa were able to give their friends and followers exclusive access to the 200 coveted tickets 24 hours before they were made available to the public. Those who secure a ticket to the Mini FROW(Fashion Front Row) will also receive a goody bag containing £500 worth of gifts from event partners. The AW13 show held on the 19th will be attended by fashion press and VIPs, entry is by invite only.

At the heart of Global Kids Fashion Week is a desire to promote the work of London based charity Kids Company. Established in 1996 by Camila Batmanghelidjh, the charity provides practical, emotional and educational support to vulnerable inner city kids.

It is fantastic that there is going to be a Global Kids’ Fashion Week, long overdue! Kids Company is delighted that its children will be benefiting through funds raised at one of the events. It is the kindness of strangers that has enabled Kids Company to remain a lifeline for some of the most vulnerable children. If these strangers are well dressed, then it’s a bonus!
