Sunshine, flowers and beautiful clothes – what more could you ask for?

This week our buying team jetted off to beautiful Florence to attend the Pitti Immagine Bimbo, held at Fortezza da Basso.
The international fair dedicated to children’s fashion ran from the 22nd to the 24th of June.
The atmosphere was buzzing as buyers from all over the world arrived to see what’s coming up in the world of childrenswear this SS18. This year’s theme – BOOM, PITTI BLOOMS, meant that gorgeous blooming flowers were seen everywhere; from wall graffiti to flowerbeds and bouquets.

Dolce & Gabbana celebrated its first-time participation by creating a lovely flower market, mixing their stunning clothes with endless beautiful flowers. Visitors were greeted by cartoon versions of Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana – which were a big hit!

The team were super excited to see what trends and fashion brands SS18 had to offer. With 538 collections expected, cool brands like Molo were showcased along with firm favourites including Kenzo Kids, Minna Parikka and Little Marc Jacobs.
Some of our buyers favourite collections came from MSGM which featured a lot of branding and mesh sequins as well as Mini Rodini with lots of swallows, vegetables and lizard motifs.

The Monnalisa show was set in the lovely Giardino Corsini al Prato and featured beautiful flamingo and tropical prints. The Il Gufo show was another highlight; set on the banks of the river with a desert theme, showcasing exquisite pieces in soft colours and luxurious fabric that took Pitti by storm.

Trends spotted at this year’s show included donkey prints, shells, arcades and eco/political slogans; while some current trends like flamingos, sequins and swans are still going strong.

We’ll have to wait until next year for everything to arrive, but we are excited to let you know that our AW17 collections have started to land on the site, so do watch out for exclusive interviews and news on our blog!
